Millet bread In Aseer

Share

Millet bread is one of the oldest types of bread in the southern regions of the Kingdom. It is prepared by kneading millet flour with water, then baking it in a traditional stone oven (tannūr), a method that reflects the simplicity of southern cuisine and its reliance on what the land provides.

Millet flour is produced from local crops grown and harvested in the lands of ʿAseer, and this bread has long been associated with the lives of farmers and the harvest season. It served as a daily staple, either eaten on its own or served alongside traditional dishes.
